Trauma Level vs Community ED Pay

- Level II Trauma Center: $82,000-$140,000, similar scope to Level I with some limitations on complex pediatric/neuro trauma. Strong training pipeline for new ER RNs aiming for Level I.
- Community ED (>50K visits/year): $77,000-$125,000, high volume, diverse acuity; most accessible entry point for new ER RNs; strong demand for overtime and PRN coverage.
- Freestanding Emergency Department: $79,000-$118,000, lower acuity but full ER scope; no overnight ICU boarding; increasingly staffed by travel nurses at premium rates.
